Beastmaster Hunter Pawn Scale for Levels 70, 71, and 72.

Here is the World of Warcraft Cataclysm beast master specced PVE hunter pawn scale I use on my level 70 hunter for maximum ranged dps. ( If you have the gold, make Leather armor unusable! If you're really broke, make Cloth armor usable. )

Cataclysm Discipline Priest Pawn Scale

Here is the pawn scale I use on my level 80 and level 81 discipline priests in the new World of Warcraft Cataclysm instances. (Poor Raz!)

These are not exact numbers, because I haven't found the gear on the AH to compare [read:tweak]. But they are weighted and seem to work just fine so far. I do get a lot of compliments on my healing. :)

Spirit is low because I never seem to run out of mana (yet!), even wearing a mix of item levels from 175 to 308 gear.
Haste is low because I'm mostly popping instant cast spells, Prayer of Healing being the exception.

Cataclysm Caster Agility versus Critical Strike

There have been quite a few arguments lately on whether Agility will grant any crits onto spell casts. The tooltip on our paperdoll says "Increases Critical Hit chance by 4.10%".
Which is confusing in itself.. does it means whether the spell being cast has a 4.10% chance native or added chance to proc a critical cast? The word "hit" implies a target... oh well. Let's test it!

Using my level 40 human holy specced paladin as the guinea pig, attacking a Stormwind training dummy, and the addon Recount to capture the results, here are my results:

Stats before testing:

• Buffs: none.
• Gear: none.
• Strength: 70
• Agility: 46
• Intellect: 49
• Spirit: 53
• Total Mana: 1442
• Spell Power: 39
• Spell Crit Chance: 5.37%
• Mana Regen: 64
• Combat Regen: 57
• Holy Light cost: 88 mana
• Holy Light cast time: 2.5 seconds

Test Runs: attacking a training dummy + drinking moonberry juice:

1. 200 Holy Lights cast, we had 10 crits (5.0%).

This is right near the 5.7% crit chance shown on the paperdoll ( error expected with such a small sample size ).

Okay, let's put on some pure +agility gear. And run the same test again!

Stats after gear changes:

• Buffs: none.
• Gear: pure +agility.
• Strength: 70
• Agility: 107
• Intellect: 49
• Spirit: 53
• Total Mana: 1442
• Spell Power: 39
• Spell Crit Chance: 5.37%
• Mana Regen: 64
• Combat Regen: 57
• Holy Light cost: 88 mana
• Holy Light cast time: 2.5 seconds

Test Runs: attacking a training dummy + drinking moonberry juice:

1. 200 Holy Lights cast, with 7 crits (3.5%).

Conclusion: stacking Agility in World of Warcrft: Cataclysm does NOT increase your spell criticals ( at least healing :P ).

This is the scale I've been using on my level 32 ( and up to level 38 so far ) healing holy paladin.

With the current gear I'm wearing, I can easily get off about 50 Holy Lights.. before going close to OOM.

Level 81 Shaman Healer Pawn Scale

Here is the pawn scale I'm using to heal random cataclysm dungeon groups on my level 81 restoration shaman healer. It ups the critcal strike rating to proc the ancestral-awakening-heal restoration talent.

With a decent tank I can spam Healing Wave [on the tank] and keep the rest of the group easily healed without running out of mana.

The mastery is there to buff up each heals in case someone wanders into the GPPG (Golden Pool of Purple Goo).

Good for those morning where the coffee hasn't kicked in yet!
