I'm Against Same Sex Marriage and I'm Not a Bigot

People who are against same sex marriage are being accused of bigotry and prejudice. But here is our question for the accusers. You say we've done something wrong. So where does the standard by which you are judging us come from?

And since it appears you think what we believe is objectively and absolutely wrong, your standard of morality must be objective and absolute. Otherwise, it's simply your preference. But why get so upset about a difference in preference?

And this standard you are using to judge us appears to be outside ourselves, recognizable, and something we ought to be accountable to. Otherwise you wouldn't be saying that we are guilty for not abiding by it.

And since you're saying it applies to us as persons, it seems you are also implying that the standard, perhaps, comes from that which is personal?

But if you say it's none of the above, and it's simply your personal belief, then doesn't it fall under the "private moral view" category that Judge Walker dismisses as inapplicable to the issue?

So if you still believe we're prejudiced bigots, could you at least explain to us what you ground your moral standard in? Shouldn't that at least be part of the great conversation in America over this issue?"
